Legacy giving
Legacy gifts are extremely important to UCARE. By leaving a gift to UCARE in your Will, you are making a lasting contribution to the fight against urological cancer by helping to fund vital research into new drugs and treatments.
All gifts, regardless of their size, are greatly valued by UCARE. Your support is a lifeline for people with prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers.
Tax benefits
Charitable gifts will be deducted from the value of your estate before tax liability is calculated, so by leaving a gift to UCARE in your Will you may reduce the total amount of tax liable on your estate.
How to include UCARE in your Will
UCARE cannot provide legal advice, and we strongly recommend that you consult a solicitor or legal adviser when making or changing your Will. Please ensure that your wishes are carried out correctly by recording in your Will UCARE's full name and Registered Charity Number: UCARE (Oxford), 1120887.
There are three main ways to leave a gift to charity in your Will
- Give a valuable object (known as a specific legacy). This is a particular item such as a piece of jewellery, or stocks and shares.
- Give a fixed sum of money (know as a pecuniary legacy). Your gift can be set to keep pace with inflation.
- Give a percentage of the remainders (known as a residuary legacy). This is a great way to leave a gift to charity in your Will.
